Cut Cleaning Time in Half

Traditional cleaning usually takes an hour and a half to complete and can be highly overwhelming and stressful. This is mostly because most people let dust and clutter accumulate over a long period of time instead of using simple tasks to spread cleaning time out. By using simple tasks you can cut your cleaning time down by over a half and hour and reduce stressful last minute cleaning.

Today the cleaning products market is blooming. There are so many new products that cut time in half. Here are some I recommend if you are going to try the fine art of speed cleaning. For dusting they now make dusters that adjust so you can clean high and low at once. Try Swiffer Duster. Old fashion feather dusters are perfect for touch ups or you could also use swiffer dusters hand held. For floors instead of using bacteria infested sponge mops or having to scrub the floors by hand try buying light weight floor mops like swiffer sweepers or wet jet mops. For quick clean ups on the rug instead of dragging out the sweeper get a carpet flick to save time. Also if you have both carpet and hard wood floors try getting a two in one vacuum. They make ones that flip from wet to dry. For disinfecting counters get the Lysol wipes or Clorox spray, you will save money on paper towels. If you get pledge micro fiber cloths you can use them on everything glass, wood, and leather. For cleaning toilets try disposable brushes. They now make timed shower cleaning products that cut out the scrubbing time. Some cleaning tools you might have around the house is an old toothbrush for scrubbing or peroxide for cleaning bathrooms. This is a good list but there is a lot more. Try switching it up and see what you like the most.

Ok now to get down to cleaning. Before I go over the speed cleaning process, lets learn how to spread cleaning time out. If your like most people after getting the mail you walk inside and through it down. This is what causes clutter to build up. As soon as you get the mail dispose of the junk mail into the trash and place the mail you need to look at in a basket that is placed out of the way. When you first wake up the last thing you want to do is make the bed, but it is recommended. By making the bed your bedroom will look fifty times cleaner. A lot of time goes to sorting laundry so trying buying the new side by side hampers they sell. Then you can sort as you go. The easiest and fastest way to get rid of a dirty loaded sink of dishes is don’t create one. As soon as you are done eating put the dishes into the dishwasher or wash them right away. It also keeps the sink a lot cleaner. Toys are the cause of most messes in house holds. Try donating toys your kids have out grown or having a yard sale. If you are having to many toys to pick up the best thing to do is to put half in a container you can store out of the way and every so often interchange the toys. Most kids don’t play with all there toys at once anyways. Also if the child is old enough there is nothing wrong with them picking up after themselves. Also use certain things as together time like having your child help with drying unbreakable items or helping folding laundry. Another way homes get cluttered is because instead of using an item and returning it to its place it usually gets left behind. So just by putting stuff back you are saving precious time in the end. Also when cleaning do not try to clean the whole house at once. Clean one room one day another room another so you do not get the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Here are some things that if you do not do you are going to create more work for yourself. Always use cooking spray so you can eliminate the time you spend scrubbing pots and pans. Always clean top to bottom, because dust falls down. When cleaning do not over spray the cleaning products it will create buildup. Before going grocery shopping dispose of all the expired food and do a wipe down of the fridge.

Now that you got the products and your not overwhelmed with a huge mess here is an over view of steps for cleaning different areas of your house.
