Let them dance and tumble their hearts out, this program in Longmont, Colorado delivers. With a cast of lively, caring and knowledgeable instructors Airborne Gym gives more than dance and gymnastics to their students. The program offers a variety of gymnastics and dance programs for all levels of interest and ages. The dance portion of the Longmont facility sports two new dance rooms with one way glass that allows the parents to watch without the kids being distracted. Here is a sampling of the dance courses they offer:

Jazz I/II – focus is on balance, timing, jumps, kicks and exaggerated movement
Tap I/II- focus is on rhythm, foot work and timing
Ballet & Tap- combination class 20 minutes of each specialty
Ballet – focus is on rhythm, fluid movement and balance

Boys Dance – focus is on rhythm, movement, timing integration of different movements into a dance
Advanced Ballet, Jazz and Tap classes- for older students incorporates more advanced elements in each specialty such as jumps, spins, choreography, connection of parts to a complete dance.

What really makes this program exceptional though is the attention to detail given to the costumes, dance instruction and children’s specific needs at different ages. For example, the tumble dance class for 2Ã?½ – 3 Ã?½ year olds combines two highly sought after activities into one class, gymnastics tumbling and ballet. The split is perfect for this age group allowing them to combine activities into one successful dance. The boys dance is another example, this class explores how different body movements can be interpreted as dance when linked with rhythm and music such as hip hop, martial arts, jazz and gymnastics moves.

The program runs roughly $60/month per class plus $125 for recital fees (this included the costume, t shirt with your child’s name on the back and two complimentary tickets to the recital). Students enrolled by December participate in a dance recital in the summer that lacks nothing in its presentation. Each class a child is enrolled in has a unique dance theme that the instructors select based on the students interests and dynamics. Each theme has a unique costume, a track of music specific for the theme and a dance routine choreographed by the instructors every year. Following the recital, is an awards ceremony that includes all the dance participants. Even better, the awards get progressively larger for each year in the program. My son is on his 3rd year in the program and will receive a trophy for his dance participation this year. The program helps kids set goals, encourages balance, coordination and group commitment. In a program that was started to teach kids how to dance, this group builds confidence without taking away the fun.

In addition, to the dance program the facility also offers a range of gymnastics programs with a full range equipment such as a trampoline, even and uneven bars, two large tumbling floor perfomance areas and different shapes tumpling mats. They also offer an open gym on Monday’s for $7 per child. The open gym allows kids to be in the gym without the structured class. Here is a sampling of some of the gymnastics programs they offer:

Parent/ tot – parents go into the gym with their budding gymnasts
trampoline and tumbling- focus is on trampoline work and tumbling exclusively
