Dawn Breaks,

Dawn Breaks,
And she awakes.
Like a butterfly escapes it’s cocoon;
She climbs from her warm bed and leaves her room.
Stretching hard and with a big yawn,
She thinks it’s hard to believe her days start at dawn.
When she was very small,
She did not mind waking up early, at all.
Today she’d like to stay in bed all day,
Read a good book and maybe write what she may.
But this is the day she has that big goal to meet,
And there’s all the competition she has yet to beat!
So, the child-within is denied her chance to stay home and play,
Cuz the grown up has obligations and bills to pay!
