Dear God

Dear God,
It’s me again.
I’m sorry I don’t call on You,
As often as I should.
But You know my struggles-
And You know I really trust no one.
The aches and wounds of yesterday;
Afflict me still, my every waking hour.
I’m trying so hard to keep my head above water,
But sometimes still, I feel I’m going down for the last time.
But just for today, I promise to trust in You.
Just for today, I’ll push all the pain away.
Just for today, I’ll love You back.
Just for today, I’ll talk to You all day.
Just for today, I’ll accept I can survive,
Because it’s You and me, together.
