Do Not Throw Away Those Old Tooth Brushes

Don’t throw the old tooth brushes away when they could be useful around the house cleaning things besides your teeth. You can use the toothbrush to clean your bathroom toilet. Sound weird? Well it works.

Those little places that you can’t reach can be reached by that toothbrush. Behind the seat where the bolts are hidden by those caps can get very nasty. Spray a little cleaner on it and run that toothbrush around them. Wipe clean and you have clean bolt caps all the way around.

What about around the bath room faucets? Do you know how to get all that black mold and mildew out that is enjoying growing there? Those knobs are hard to get to, but yet that toothbrush can reach under the edges of the faucet.

Now let us not forget the shower head. Shower heads are forever getting stopped up with slime, mold, mildew, and things I don’t even want to think about. Spray a little cleaner on it, let it set a few minutes and use the tooth brush to get into those small holes to clean it. Don’t forget to turn the shower on to rinse all those chemicals and germs out. No one wants that in their hair and on their bodies.

Have you ever lived at the beach with a lot of humidity and your tub has glass doors? If so, then you already know how hard it is to keep the mold and mildew out of those seals that run along the glass. Spray the area with a cleaner and run the toothbrush a long the seal and watch the black mold come off. It works great on those tub door tracks also. It saves a lot of time and mess.

The kitchen has a lot of things that can be cleaned with a toothbrush. The seal on the refrigerator. The top part of the coffee pot. Around the sink area and the faucets. The lids of those plastic bowls that get food stuck in it. What a mess! Toothbrushes are perfect for that job. Cracks and creases do not have a chance if you have your handy tooth brush to clean with.

My children’s favorite thing to use old toothbrushes for is to clean their tennis shoes. They dip the toothbrush in a cup of water with a little bit of cleaner and scrub the shoes until they look brand new.

What you thought was just an old toothbrush could turn out to be your best cleaning tool yet! So do not throw the old tooth brushes away. Recyle them!
