Do Yoga at Your Desk with MyDailyYoga.com!

Are you stiff and achy from sitting at your computer chair for too long? You are not alone. Too many of us sit at our desks for too long and pay the price, with sore necks and aching backs and just an all over aching feeling. Yoga exercises can take several minutes to do and often offer immediate relief. Isn’t that wonderful? Why not give them a try?

I was sold after getting the website from a friend while working on my thesis for graduate school. Sitting in front of my computer six days a week was starting to be sheer torture. My neck muscles were so stiff they hurt when I turned my neck. I had to do something. Anything. A friend suggested I start with a daily visit to My Daily Yoga. Slowly my muscles and tension began to relax more. My overall stress about writing my thesis remained (I’m still a human being) but I physically began to feel much better. Every few hours I would take a break from writing to do the yoga exercises and they really helped. So I gladly pass them along to anyone sitting in front of a computer who certainly deserves to feel much better.

You do not need to have any previous knowledge of yoga in order to do these exercises. When you click on the step by step exercises, the website leads you through the exercises, with the graphics showing you each motion in a video. There is no question as to what you need to do. The exercises are quite simple and basic. Read the text that comes with each exercise so you know how to breathe with each exercise, as breathing is important in yoga.

To do the routine, visit www.mydailyyoga.com and click on Everyday Yoga to be led through exercises that will soothe the general aches and pains of working in front of a computer and sitting at a desk all day. One exercise follows another as you click on the “next” button when you have completed doing an exercise. Don’t be surprised if you feel energized after a few moments of doing the exercises.

The website also offers a RSI Yoga workout for repetitive stress injury, and a set of warm ups. There are also articles about yoga and health to read.

My Daily Yoga is created by Ellen Serber, a yoga instructor and Daniel Will-Harris, a website designer.
