Easy-to-Make Halloween Party Favors

Everyone loves a good Halloween party. If you are giving a Halloween party for your children, or just want something creative and spooky to hand out to trick or treaters, teachers or friends, here are some easy and fun ways to present your Halloween party favors this year.

Pumpkin Candy Pots:
This project is a little more involved than other projects, but they turn out super cute. If you want to give your child’s teacher a Halloween gift, this is perfect. You can also use your creativity to turn on of these pots into a Halloween witch, bat, ghost or mummy.
To make one pumpkin pot, you will need:

One small clay pot (2-1/2 inches)
Orange acrylic paint
Permanent makers
Hot glue gun
Green pipe cleaner
Green craft foam

Begin by painting the pot orange. When the pot dries completely, use the marker to draw on a cute (or scary) jack o’ lantern face. Glue the green pipe cleaner around the top of the pot. Use the ends to make them look like curly stems. Cut out two leaf shapes out of the craft foam and attach to the pipe cleaner. When the project is dry, fill with candy.

Bone Candy Bar:
When you are done with this project, you will have a candy bar that looks like a bone. My kids have made this to hand out as treats at school.
For each bone, you will need:

One fat candy bar (such as a Payday or Butterfinger-flat candy bars will not work)
Two oval shaped candies that are individually wrapped. Butterscotch works well.
White streamers

Start by gluing one oval candy at the top and bottom of the candy bar. They must hang over the edge just a little. This will give the candy bar the rounded shape and the top and bottom. Now tape the end of the streaming to the underside of the candy bar and wrap the entire candy bar until it is completely covered. Tape in place. You now have a bone to hand out at your next Halloween party!

I Scream Cones:

This is always a popular hit at Halloween parties! For each cone, you will need:

One flat-bottomed ice cream cones
Halloween themed cake candies (also called icing decorations)
Icing glue (mix together a paste of powdered sugar and milk, this should be like thick glue)
Candy or Halloween themed cereal to fill the cones
Plastic wrap

Using the icing glue, decorate the outside of the cones with the icing decorations. When it dries, fill the cone with candy or cereal. Candy corn is a good choice. I also like to make a mix of cereal, candy corn and marshmallows and use that to fill the cups. Wrap the cone in plastic wrap and tie the top with orange ribbon.

Halloween Sucker Spoons:

These are very easy to make and your kids will really enjoy the results. These are also perfect to hand out at school or trick or treaters because they are individually wrapped from the store. You can either make a pumpkin using orange plastic spoons or a ghost using a white plastic spoon.

For the pumpkin, all you need to do is use a black permanent marker to draw a jack o’ lantern face on the curved side of the spoon. Use festive Halloween strips of fabric or ribbon to tie a sucker (use larger suckers such as Tootsie pops) to the concave side of the spoon.

To make the ghost, use the same technique, only make a ghost face. You can also glue wiggly eyes instead of drawing the eyes on the spoon.

Now you have some fun and cute party favors for your next Halloween party. Have fun and Happy Halloween!
