Equate Brand Night-Time Firming Cream Product Review: A Cheaper Alternative to Night of Olay
Equate Night-Time Firming Cream is a generic brand of night time firming cream that is comparable to Oil of Olay’s Night of Olay. They have a similar ingredient list and they produce similar results. The only real difference is the price. The Night of Olay Cream runs about $8 a 2 oz jar (depending on the market), and Equate’s version is less than half that price at about $3.75 a 2 oz. jar, again depending on the market. This product can be found at a few retailers including Wal-mart and Albertson’s.
Equate’s Night-Firming Cream contains the following ingredients: water, glycerin, Cetyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Cyclomethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Carbomer, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Dimethicone Copolyol, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl, Butylcarbamate, EDTA, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Red No. 4. As mentioned above it comes in a 2 oz jar, which will last about two weeks to one month depending on how much you use. It is recommended that you apply it liberally over your entire face before you go to bed, making sure that you avoid getting it in your eyes. As soon as the cream is applied your face will feel more hydrated and cool. It is very effective at toning the skin on your face and giving you a slight lifting effect, especially around the eyes. To help improve the lifting results created by this product I recommend applying the cream to your upper eyelids, lower eyelids, neck, and even the back of the neck, as well as generally on your face. This will help tighten all of the skin around your face and improve the final results.
In addition to the recommended use for this product I have also found that it is a very effective product for treating chapped lips. Simply spread a thin layer of the cream over your lips at night, or anytime that your lips feel dry and cracked. It also works as a good all over firming cream. I used it after having a baby to help tone up loose skin on my stomach. If you use this product for a body cream you may want to buy a couple of jars at a time as 2 oz gets used up quickly when applying to more than just your face.
