Esprit De Corps and 102.9 The Point Host the 3rd Annual 80s Party

JACKSONVILLE – Esprit de Corps (EDC), one of Jacksonville’s leading volunteer and young professionals’ organizations, is again partnering with 102.9 The Point, to support the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society / Team in Training.

The theme of this partnered event will be an 80’s Superstar Party. Scheduled for Saturday, August 5, 2006, 8 p.m. at River City Brewing Company, the 80’s Superstar Party will be the 3rd annual 80’s-themed fundraiser hosted by Esprit de Corps.

Tickets are $15 in advance for EDC members, $20 in advance for non-members and $25 at the door – net proceeds benefit the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society / Team in Training. Advanced ticketing will be sold through EDC representatives, River City Brewing Company and Peterbrooke Chocolatier. Guests are requested to dress in their favorite 80’s clothing and can dine on delicious food provided by River City Brewing Company, indulge in the infamous Chocolate Fountain and desserts provided by Peterbrooke Chocolatier, bid in the silent auction, enter various 80’s themed contests and more.

This is Esprit de Corps’ 3rd annual 80’s-themed event. In 2004, they raised $5,000 for the Donna Hicken Foundation and in 2005, $5,000 for the North Florida Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest, private organization with a mission solely focused on finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma – and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The mission of Team In Training is to use long distance running, walking, cycling and swimming as a symbol of endurance and hope. All proceeds raised from Team In Training will support the LLS’s programs of research, patient aid, public and professional education and community service.

Esprit de Corps is a diverse group of motivated professionals who strive to “Make a Difference” in our community through volunteerism and cooperative spirit. Established in 1986, Esprit de Corps holds social and volunteer events where members and non-members “Party for a Purpose.” Members use this relaxed environment to make new friends, gain new clients, or sometimes change their careers. Members are offered diverse ways to give back to the community throughout the year.
