Ever Consider Hosting a Superbowl Party or Other Big Sports Event at Your House?

The Super bowl is one of the most watched games and shows in all of America. The Super bowl has become a ritual among Americans to hang out with friends and family and watch the big game. Even people who aren’t big football fans or sports fans go to Super bowl parties because it is so much fun. So I ask you, Why don’t you host a Super bowl party or NBA finals game at your house? Here are some great ideas and tips for hosting it.

First, think of what you normally do on the night of the Super bowl Sunday. Do you normally go to a friends house to watch the game or do you sit at home and do nothing that Sunday night? A good party tip is to alternate the Super bowl party location each year or take turns with friends hosting the party. For example my family hosts the party one year while the following year my friend’s family hosts it in their house. Each year we rotate locations back and forth between houses. You too can create this situation in which hosting the Super bowl becomes an annual event.

When it is your turn and year to host the Super bowl party, there are certain tips that are useful.

First decide where you are going to be watching the big football game. Your living room is the best choice if you have one. If not I suggest a basement or room in the house that is big and spacious enough to accommodate a lot of people and chairs.

Also look at the condition of your television that you will be watching. Is it really old and do you need a replacement? Do you need a bigger television. The Super bowl Sunday is a great day to buy a new television because many stores have huge discounts knowing that people are going to be buying new televisions for the big football game.

The next step is to compile a guest list. If you are taking turns with a friend in hosting the party every year at each other’s house, as common courtesy invite all the people who attended your friend’s Super bowl party the previous year or encourage your friend to invite their friends to your house for the Super bowl party. There is no such thing as too many people coming to your house for a party. Invite your own friends and family members to come over to your house to talk and watch the game.

The next step is to think about what kind of food you will have for your guests. I suggest ordering pizza which is the cheapest. Deli food is always an option but that can be significantly more expensive. Chips and dip are usually common place. Buy soda, beer and drinks as well.

Finally, make sure you have enough chairs for your guests. Put together a list of the people coming and make sure that they know how to get to your house. The guest list will also tell you how many people you expect to be coming to the party to watch the game. In your room where you will be watching the game, put together all of your coaches and chairs to make sure that people don’t have to sit on the floor. Folding chairs can be bought pretty cheap for less than $10 for each chair.

Have a great time and have fun watching the big game.
