Excedrin Migraine Vs Aleve Sinus and Headache: Which Migraine Medicine Works Best for You?

I have inherited migraine headaches from my father. I started getting migraines at around 12 years old and continue to have them to this day. When I was younger there really wasn’t a whole lot of options for relief from migraines, you could either take Tylenol or go to a doctor and get a prescription for something a little bit stronger that would more than likely make you woozy. Luckily modern science and technology have greatly improved since that time and there are more over the counter pain reliver options specifically for migraines that are readily available at most pharmacys and retail stores.

I first tried Excedrin Migraine at my old job. I was working as a bill collector and was constantly under stress and pressure to perform. I had started getting a migraine on the closing day of accounts for the month. This was the worst time as we were in a race to beat the clock and I needed to be able to function at full capacity. A coworker had a bottle of Excedrin Migraine on her desk. Being in a desperate situation and needing relief fast, I helped myself to two and prayed that they would kick in. The Excedrin took about 45 minutes to really kick in and it completely wiped out my migraine. I also had some extra energy that I later found out was from the caffeine which is a active ingredient.

After that day I went and bought a bottle of Excedrin to keep with me at all times. I have found that if I take it at the onset of a migraine it works perfectly and wipes the migraine out before the migraine wipes me out. The only time I have found Excedrin to be less helpful, is if I have had alot of caffeine prior to use. Drinking caffinated beverages while taking Excedrin tends to make me jumpier and seems to prolong my headaches.

I tried Aleve Sinus and Headache as a result of my husband bringing home the wrong headache medicine for me. I read the label as well as dosage instructions and decided it would be worth a shot to try Aleve. One of the things that led me to the decision to try Aleve Sinus and Headache, is it contains a decongestant that relieves sinus pressure. I figured that be eliminating some sinus pressure my migraine would not be sticking around for too long. The Aleve took care of my migraine in about 45 minutes. The only downfall I have with this product is the fact that even though it says non drowsy, I became drowsy after taking it.

I still use Aleve Sinus and Headache on occasions when I have a cold. I have found that the product works better for me at eliminating the headaches that are common syptoms of the cold as opposed to migraines.

Both pills are reasonably priced and can easily be found in the health aisles of retail and discount stores.
