Face Paint for Halloween
Although face paint is usually the least expensive way to go, don’t buy the ready-made kind in the store. Halloween make-up isn’t exactly cheap, and the available colors are generally few. It’s easy to make your own make-up for Halloween, and you can make as much or as little as you want with a few inexpensive ingredients. Make face paint instead of buying a mask, and make this Halloween one to remember.
Glycerin Face Paint
To make a batch of glycerin face paint you’ll need five teaspoons of cornstarch, two teaspoons of pure white shortening, one teaspoon of all-purpose white flour, three or four drops of glycerin, and food coloring of your choice.
Thoroughly combine all ingredients, and add food coloring until you achieve the color you desire. Store it in containers with lids until ready to use. Film canisters and small baby food jars are perfect for storing Halloween make-up.
Corn Syrup Face Paint
For corn syrup face paint, you’ll need three-fourths cup of light corn syrup, three tablespoons of cornstarch, one tablespoon of all-purpose white flour, one-quarter cup of water, and food coloring.
Combine the dry ingredients, and gradually add in the water and corn syrup, and stir until smooth. Divide the mixture into separate containers, and stir in food coloring of your choice.
Cold Cream Face Paint
To make a batch of cold cream face paint you’ll need three teaspoons of cornstarch, one and one-half teaspoons of cold cream, one and one-half teaspoons of water, and food coloring.
Thoroughly combine the cold cream and cornstarch until it’s well blended and smooth. Gradually stir in the water, and add food coloring of your choice a drop at a time until the desired color is achieved. Seal tightly until ready to use.
Halloween Face Paint Ideas
Add a little sparkle to your make-up by stirring in a bit of fine iridescent glitter. Use glitter infused face paint to create a painted mask for a fairy princess, a clown, a sparkling pixie, or anything else you can dream up. When applying face paint for Halloween or any other occasion, you’re only limited by your imagination.
