For this project, you will need:

– 6 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch clear glass rectangle vase

– Several sheets of orange colored cardstock

– Crafter’s Workshop “Swirly Vines” Template Stencil (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

– Pencil

– Craft knife

– Self healing mat

– Xyron machine fitted with a double-sided adhesive cartridge

– Bright orange glitter

– Shallow pan

– Hot glue gun

– Glue sticks

– Damp paper towel

– Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White

– Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Pumpkin Orange

– Acrylic finishing spray

– Newspaper or drop cloth (plastic or fabric)

Cover your work area with several sheets of newspaper or a drop cloth (plastic or fabric). Turn the 6 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch clear glass rectangle vase upside down. Spray the outside of the vase with an even coat of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Dry for two hours. Add an even layer of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Pumpkin Orange. Let the orange paint set for a half an hour before adding a second coat. Allow the vase to dry overnight.

Place a sheet of orange cardstock onto the self healing mat. Carefully use a pencil to transfer the Crafter’s Workshop “Swirly Vines” Template Stencil shapes to the paper. Repeat with all remaining pieces of cardstock.

Cut out the swirled pattern shapes with a craft knife. Run the ornate cardstock shapes through an Xyron machine fitted with a double-sided adhesive cartridge. Peel off the top layer of protective sheeting on the cardstock shapes, exposing the adhesive. Place the shapes in a shallow pan and sprinkle liberally with orange glitter. Shake off any excess glitter. Repeat this process until all the cardstock shapes have been glittered.

Heat up the hot glue gun. Remove the protective sheeting from the back of the glittered paper. Apply a beaded line of hot glue over top of the adhesive for extra protection. Press the design directly onto the orange painted vase.

Allow the hot glue to dry for an hour. Apply a thick layer of acrylic finishing spray over the vase. Dry overnight before filling with an autumn bouquet and displaying.
