Find Tex-Mex and Mexican Restaurants Near Bedford

You cannot sneeze from inhaling hot sauce without hitting a Tex-Mex restaurant on every corner of the DFW Metroplex area. Nachos, tacos, and fajitas are staples of life in this area. If your budget is a bit higher than a Taco Bell run, this article will give you three choices to satisfy your Tex-Mex cravings.

Based on the popularity of its downtown Fort Worth location, the arrival of the Mexican Inn CafÃ?© in the Bedford/Mid Cities location is considered a coup. The parking lot is full and the brightly colored restaurant is hopping. However, you may question the hubbub once you dine at the CafÃ?©. The chips look like fritos and the hot sauce is very bland. That is the first strike against an eagerly awaited lunch experience. The menu offers the usual platters from ultimate nachos to sizzling fajitas. Service is good as waiters constantly refill ice tea glasses and keep the tiny bowls of chips filled. However, the food is bland. Presentation is fine and you can get the usual combo type plates – one taco, an enchilada, rice and beans. Ultimately, the prices were moderate to high for a lunch platter and you leave without taking that last drink gulp to cool the taste buds.

Mi Cocina is part of a chain of local restaurants and the Southlake location is a superb dining experience. This is an upscale Tex-Mex restaurant decorated in a modern stainless and glass subdued hue. There are no sombreros on the wall. The chips are tortilla fresh and crispy with the correct salty taste. The hot sauce is the right mix of flavor and kick. You are off to a good start. If you are imbibing and can afford it, the Mi Cocina margaritas will not disappoint. Fruity lime blended with a decent portion of tequila, the drink goes down smoothly as you await your meal. Mi Cocina platters are lovely and after the eyes gaze happily, the mouth gets to enjoy a flavorful medley of nachos, enchiladas, or fajitas. The menu offers a plentiful combo selection and you will leave full and ready for a siesta. The food prices are upper moderate, but worth the extra dollars. You will need a final sip of water or grab a mint from the bowl to cool the smoldering fire of good Tex-Mex.

Miguelito’s Mexican Restaurant is a good medium Tex-Mex dining experience. Family oriented, the place is not fancy and has the ticky-tacky Mexican decorations on the wall. It offers a fruity margarita at a decent price and the vast menu selections supply any possible combination. The chips are crunchy and salty and the hot sauce has kick. The workers hustle here, and your chip bowl never empties. Service is quick and efficient. Hot plates abound with a generous portion of tasty food with yummy sauces. You will leave groaning and thirsty and your pocketbook will not hurt.

Everyone thinks they can make their own tacos. However, dining out encompasses the whole Tex-Mex experience. Folks have their biases as to chips, sauce, and combo platters. Try the three places listed in this article and make your own decision. Or sneeze and find another place on another corner.
