Finding a Florist in Petaluma, California

Northern California’s picturesque city of Petaluma has an abundance of floral shops to choose from. Whether you are looking for roses for your sweetie, a beautiful bouquet for the office birthday girl or a unique plant or gift “just because,” I’m certain you will find just what you’re looking for at one of these three places. As a longtime gardener and admirer of “all things floral,” these three carry my personal stamp of approval!

Don’t let the small size of this shop dissuade you-the family owned and operated shop can create a lovely floral arrangement for all occasions. In addition to making contemporary and traditional bouquets from a large assortment of fresh-cut flowers, they also offer a great assortment of lush plants, tropicals, European/dish gardens, candles, silk and dried floral arrangements. If flowers aren’t your thing or you’re just looking for something different, they can custom-make gorgeous gourmet and fruit baskets, too.

Because they are a small shop, they are especially committed to offering personalized, friendly customer service, and will go the extra mile to ensure that your flower purchase is just what you want. The location is a little hard to spot as they share a building with a party supply store, but it’s definitely worth a stop.

Not your average florist shop, Garden Valley Ranch is actually more of a plantation, with 9,000 rose bushes on nine landscaped acres. Fresh-cut, top quality roses are available to buy from the retail shop, or they will ship them across the country for you. Their retail nursery has rose bushes, trees, shrubs, cut flowers and unique garden gifts for sale. If you have some time, their $5 self-guided tours of the property are simply wonderful-there is so much floral eye candy in every direction, it will make you positively giddy! For groups of ten or more, Garden Valley Ranch offers docent-led tours for $10 per person. Their site is also available to book (and hugely popular) for weddings and special events. They have a Victorian Belvedere, a brick dance floor set in a large lawn, and a one-acre garden devoted to fragrant plants. A dressing room and restrooms are located close to the event site.
