Your first option is to take your child to a group practice like the Missoula Valley Pediatricians. This practice is composed of five board certified pediatricians including: Thomas Jay Lowden, MD, Thomas A. Randall, MD, Jennifer L. Rosquist, MD, Sandra B. Simmons, MD, and Steven F. Wallace, MD. One of the benefits of going to a group practice is that you can have a regular doctor that you take your child to, and when your regular pediatrician is not available your child can be seen be one of his or her associates who have immediate access to your child’s medical records and charts without you having to dictate their complete medical history before your child is treated. The other advantage of going to a group practice is that they are generally open longer hours. The Missoula Valley Pediatricians makes appointment for clinical visits Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If your child has an accident or illness and you need to be seen that day they also accept walk-ins Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. What you should understand about these times of operation is that your pediatrician may not work all of these hours, so you will need to ask for your doctor’s schedule.
The Missoula Valley Pediatricians accept all types of medical insurance and will do the paperwork for you. They specialize in newborns to adolescents, general care, acne, adolescent gynecology, asthma, ADD, diabetes, and sports physicals.

Blue Mountain Clinic offers general medical care for children and women. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcomed.

While there are several group practices in Missoula for child health care, you don’t have to go to them. There are also several single practice pediatricians that are available. Dr. Harper is an excellent pediatrician who is very easy to get along with, and who is great with children. He sees patients newborn through adolescents, and accepts most types of insurance including Medicaid. His schedule runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. On the days that he is not available, another doctor from a neighboring practice is available. This arrangements helps to provide quality care for his patients, even on the days that he is not available. He also has an answering service for emergency after hour questions and referrals.
