Five Steps to Hanging Perfect Wall Border..

Hanging wall border can help to enhance to look of any room in your home. The are several varieties to choose from, coming in tons of patterns and color schemes.

Step One…
Deciding. Look at the colors in the room you are planning to hang the border in. OR, choose new colors for your room based on a beautiful wall border. The first step is to decide what border your going to use, and where you are going to hang it.

Step Two…
Measuring. Placing wall border along the top of the wall is easy. You simply follow the line where the wall meets the ceiling. Same goes for hanging it at the bottom of the wall, as a floor accent. However, hanging a border halfway up or down the wall requires measuring. There are laser beam tools that can help you greatly. They attach to your wall and cast a red laser across the wall, in a perfectly straight line. This allows you to hang with precision. You can also measure the good old fashioned way, with a tape measure. Make a mark every twelve inches at the same height all the way around the room. Use the mark as guides.

Step Three…
Start hanging. Unroll the roll of wall border. Focus on the spot it is to be hung. Apply the wallpaper paste or wet with warm water. Your roll of border will say which to use on the labeling. Hang an arm span at a time. That is a long as both of your arms stretched outward is. With your arms stretched to opposite side, wall border in hand, place the wall border on the wall. Slide it gently into place. Make sure your lines are matching up. Lift and replace in areas that need adjusting.

Step Four…
Now that your wall border is in place on the wall, you’ll need to smooth it out. Often times there will be little air pockets trapped under the border itself. There may also be creases or wrinkles. Now is the time to smooth all of those out. Take a soft dry cloth and gently rub, from the center of the border out to the sides. Do this over the entire surface. Wipe gently or else your border may slip out of place.

Step Five…
You’re done! Now it’s time to let it dry. Enjoy the beautiful new look your wall border has created:)
