When you need protection, you have to lower them and secure them to the wall. One of the disadvantages of these shutters is that they can sometimes block too much light from entering your windows. They also can’t be used to protect the doors of your home.
Rolling
One of the final types of hurricane shutters is the rolling design. They are also attached above the window. However, these types of hurricane shutters roll up into a box whenever they aren’t being used. You can lower them automatically with a button or do it manually with a crank. When locked, these shutters offer some of the best protection. Unfortunately, they are also the most expensive options.
These are some of the different types of hurricane shutters. Metal designs are strong, but usually require multiple people to setup. Bahama shutters can also provide shade, but they can’t be used to protect the doors of your home.
