Fort Worth Brahmas Hockey Team Holding Fundraisers
On Oct. 8th the group will take part in the Historic Handley Street Festival with Bruiser, the mascot signing autographs and posing for photos with guests at Handley Drive and East Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth.
The Trinity Trot charitable race will be held Oct. 22nd at 7 a.m. at the Amon Carter Stadium on the TCU campus.
The Brahmas has a corporate club which makes it possible for children in underprivileged areas to attend a free hockey game.
For the fifth consecutive season the Brahmas will be fielding a squad of Brahmas Dancers performing at home games and appearing at various promotional and public events on behalf of the team. After multiple auditions the roster for the 2005-2006 dancers has been finalized.

In latest hockey news, author Dave Bidini has just released a book, The Best Game You Can Name called “a comical rec-league ride” about the world of the sport. According to a review in the Canadian Press, Bidini takes us on a raucous ride with his tournament experiences as a defenseman on a recreational hockey team, the Morningstars and ends each chapter with recollections of NHL players and coaches.
In the book Gary Green talks about visits by celebrities while he was coaching the Washington Capitals and reminisces about the time he welcomed Bruce Springsteen.
The National Hockey League (NHL) season opens Oct. 5th.

According to NHL.com, video hockey games are back and some of the latest ones have the ice deforming as you play, detailed images of uniforms, and a wide variety of skating and checking animations. The NHL 06 game is the recommended one from NHL.

Many NHL players give back to their communities such as Landon Wilson of the Phoenix Coyotes who is involved in many charity endeavors and Darren McCarty of the Detroit Red Wings. One of his strongest commitments is to the McCarty Cancer Foundation which he created to assist in the battle against multiple myeloma, a terminal cancer that took his father’s life in 1999.
