Four Creative Uses for Dryer Lint
Fire Starters
Dryer lint is very flammable. That is why you have to remove it from your dryer all the time. This makes it unsuitable for some crafts such as batting in blankets or stuffing for toys or pillows.
However, its flammability makes it a great fire starter. If you have a fireplace, you can keep several toilet paper rolls stuffed with dryer lint as fire starters. If you go camping, you can carry some lint in a plastic bag. These will burn very well for starting other tinder or wood.
Dryer Lint Clay

To make it, you start by tearing up a couple of cups of dryer lint into a saucepan. You will add 2 cups of water and slowly add another cup of plain flour, and a very small amount of vegetable oil. Stir this constantly over low heat until it binds together smoothly.
Pour it out of the pan onto sheets of news or waxed paper to cool. After it is cool, you can use it to create all sorts of things by sculpting it, covering other items, or putting it into clay molds. It will dry completely in several days.
Dryer Lint Paper Mache
Dryer lint paper mache is made in much the same way as dryer lint clay, but with more water and flour added in. The consistency will be thinner and smooth.
This paper mache can be used to smooth over models or other craft projects. For example, you can make paper mache bowls, balloons, or masks. Drying completely will take several days, after which you can sand it smooth and paint it.
