As of last week over 6,500 animals were rescued in Louisiana and Mississippi by the ASPCA and most of the work has now shifted to reuniting pets with their displaced owners as a result of the recent hurricanes.

The Reata Restaurant in Fort Worth, TX will present an interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, “The Haunting of the 35th Floor” presented by The Comedy Killers Oct. 28th at 7 p.m. Cost is $60 per person and includes a three-course dinner and play featuring pumpkin crÃ?¨me brulee for dessert.

Roof Haunts on Halloween at the Reata will be held Oct. 31st from 7-11 p.m. featuring a live band with a costume contest at 10:00. First prize wins $200. Reservations are not required.

The annual Halloween Street Party will be held on Cedar Springs Road in the Oak Lawn Community in Dallas Oct. 29th from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the usual midnight parade. There will be fortune tellers, costume contests, outrageous, flamboyant costumes, food and drink specials, booths to buy items, and various other events.
Those who have never been before are encouraged to bring a camera for some interesting pictures of some of the most ingenious costumes you’ve ever laid eyes on such as those related to the Renaissance, cultural icons, popular celebrities, and cartoon characters as well as historical figures such as Marie Antoinette.
