Funny Bible Verses About Wives
The Bible has many entertaining verses about wives. Listed here is a description of a good wife, a hint of a bad wife, and a verse that shows the real reward that a wife is. Wives who practice the good traits listed in these verses should remind their husbands how lucky they are to have them. By avoiding the bad wife description here a home can be much happier. All of these Bible quotes are from the New Living Bible Paraphrased version.
A Truly Good Wife
Proverbs 31 is the chapter in the Bible that describes a good wife. Proverbs 31:10 says “If you find a truly good wife she is worth more than precious gems!” Verses 13 and 14 say “She finds wool and flax and busily spins it. She buys imported foods, brought by ship from distant ports.”
Men should read this and understand why women like to buy clothes and go shopping, especially for imported products. Buying jewelry for a wife should be easy since she is worth more than precious gems. Read all of Proverbs 31 and husbands and wives can learn even more.
Hint Of A Bad Wife
Proverbs 19:13 says “A nagging wife annoys like constant dripping.” My mother has a gutter outside her bedroom window that leaks. The constant drip of water from this as it hits the ground keeps her from a good night’s sleep. The homeowner’s association does not understand why a leaking gutter is such a big deal to her and refuses to fix such a minor thing.
Wives should take notice that nagging can cause more unhappiness in a family then just lost sleep. My Mother hired someone herself to fix her drip. Nagging wives should figure out a solution to stop the nag and read the verse about a truly good wife. If they do that, this next verse will become true.
Live Happily
Ecclesiastes 9:9 says “Live happily with the woman you love through the fleeting days of your life, for the wife God gives you is your best reward down here for all your earthly toil.” Most husbands in today’s world do not toil the earth like in the days of the Bible. However, coming home to a good wife after a difficult day is truly a good reward.
A wife that practices what is in Proverbs 31 and avoids the annoyance described in Proverbs 19:13 can bring about the good life described in Ecclesiastes 9:9. Next time a husband complains about his wife she should remind him that she buys things brought by ship from distance ports and has fixed her drip. That should bring about a Biblical smile.
