GED Testing in Philadelphia

If you’re looking to get your GED Philadelphia is filled with ample opportunity. The first thing I’d recommend to anyone is taking classes so you can brush up on all of the subjects that you did back in high school. The Community College of Philadelphia on Spring Garden Street offer both GED classes and testing. You must register six months in advance to take the GED test there. To register you must pay $60 dollars in the form of a check or cash. Requirements include that you must be eighteen or older, a resident of Pennsylvania, not have a high school diploma or be in high school currently. If you are 16 or 17 you might be able to take the test if you have a written request from an employer that requires a diploma or GED to work for them, a college official who will accept the student if they have their GED, or a recruiting official for people that want to go into the military. District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund on 100 South Broad also offers GED testing. You must register in advance. To take the complete test it will cost you $50 dollars in the form of cash or money order. You must provide two current forms of identification. You can register Tuesdays 3pm-6pm, Wednesdays 9am-12pm & 3pm-4:30pm, and Fridays 9am-12pm. Make sure you bring two No. 2 pencils and a current photo ID so you’re allowed to take the test.

Temple University also offers GED testing. GED testing is held on two Saturdays each month on the Main Campus. Testing is by appointment only. If you are from outside of the Philadelphia area and would like to find classes or places that do testing closer to you, call your nearby High School. They offer a lot of information and will point you in the right direction. Also, a lot of public libraries offer free GED tutoring so if you need help with brushing up on your Math or other subjects you should call your local library and ask if they offer such a program. Most bookstores offer books that are dedicated to all of what is in a GED test. You can study with all of the information in that book, making it even easier for you to pass the test!
