Flour Tag

These days, kids don’t want to play ordinary games of tag, especially at summer camp. This game of tag isn’t an ordinary camp activity. This fun camp activity gives the game of tag a whole new meaning. Flour tag is a favorite camp activity, and it’s no wonder why. Flour is used as a marker to tag players in this fun and exciting summer camp game.

Simply place about �½ cup of white flour in a clean sock, and tie a knot in the top. Each player receives a flour-filled sock. Camp kids participating in this fun camp activity should wear dark T-shirts, and form two separate teams. The teams attempt to tag players on the opposite team. The last person to be tagged is the winner of this fast and furious camp activity that is sure to burn lots of summertime energy. The flour can easily be wiped off when the game is over.

Sponge Ball

Kids attending summer camp look forward to cooling off by playing in the water, and summer camp wouldn’t be camp without water games. Sponge ball is a fun and exciting game that involves lots of water and lots of fun.

Sponge ball is a lot like dodge ball, only sponge ball is played with a large absorbent sponge. The players line up against a building about three feet apart, and the person with the water-soaked sponge stands about twenty feet in back of an invisible line while trying to hit the other players with the wet sponge.

Rules of the game include no hitting above the mid section, and no crossing the invisible line. When a player is hit with the sponge, they take the place of the person who hit them.

Water Pinata

A regular pinata holds candy and toys, but a pinata at summer camp holds a surprise that is sure to make a big splash. Surprise the kids by filling a solid-colored plastic bag with water, secure the top, and hang the water-filled bag from a tree limb. Choose a person to blindfold, spin them around, and tell the kids to get ready for a big surprise. Instruct the blindfolded person to hit the bag with a sturdy broom handle or similar object. Allow each player three hits, and pass the turn to another player. When the water pinata is broken, everyone is sure to cool off.

After the initial surprise, continue playing water pinata with large water balloons. This is a refreshing change from an ordinary water balloon toss, and it’s a fun and exciting way for summer camp kids to cool off on a hot summer day.
