Adding these adorable glittered wood snowflake ornaments is a simple and stylish way to dress up your holiday tree this year! Create one to use as a present topper or several to decorate an entire tree.

For this project, you will need:

– 1/4 inch thick Craft wood

– Pencil

– Several different snowflake shaped stencils

– Medium grit sandpaper

– Tack cloth or other soft cloth

– Jigsaw or other wood cutting tool

– Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White

– Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Peekaboo Blue

– Krylon Glitter Spray in Shimmering Silver

– 1/4 inch wide blue or silver satin ribbon

– Scissors

– Hot glue gun and glue sticks

– Newspaper or large drop cloth (plastic or fabric)

It is best that you first cover your work area with a few layers of old newspaper or a large plastic or fabric drop cloth prior to starting this project. Place a sheet of 1/4 inch thick craft wood flat on the workspace. In pencil, trace the snowflake shaped stencil design onto the wood. Very carefully cut out the design with a jigsaw or other cutting tool. Gently sand the wood snowflake with medium grit sandpaper. Wipe away any dust from the snowflake with a tack cloth or other soft cloth.

Set the wood snowflake cutout flat. Spray the top side with Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Wait for a half an hour before adding a second coat. Dry for three to four hours before flipping over and priming the backside of the ornament in the same fashion. Let the snowflake set for an additional three to four hours.

Paint the front of the snowflake using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Peekaboo Blue. Dry for an hour before repeating with the backside of the cutout. Add a second coat of blue paint to the wood. Let the entire ornament set for an additional three to four hours to dry. Spray the ornament with Krylon Glitter Spray in Shimmering Silver and dry overnight.

Cut a length of 1/4 inch wide blue or silver satin ribbon. Heat up the hot glue gun on a medium setting. Apply a bit of glue to the top back of the ornament. Affix one end of the ribbon onto the glue spot. Loop the other end of the ribbon to create a hanging loop on the ornament. Let the glue cool completely before hanging your new ornament on your holiday tree!
