Go Grab a Slice of Cheese at the Arthur, IL Cheese Festival!
Is your family looking for something to do this Labor Day weekend? Are you hungry for some free cheese? Are you feeling competitive enough to enter a cheese eating contest to win a national title?
You can enjoy all of these activities at the annual Cheese Festival in the rural town of Arthur, IL during Labor Day weekend. Enjoy a weekend filled with craft booths from local craft artists and vendors, free live entertainment, plenty of yummy food, and friendly smiles and chit-chat from the new and old visitors of Arthur, IL !
On the first day of this festival, enjoy a pancake breakfast distributed at the Arthur Firehouse or go grab your breakfast at the Otto Center! At mid-morning, line up for the FREE CHEESE line and grab your plate of crackers and flavor testing of various cheeses! And don’t forget to get your ice cream at the local ice cream social and take your kids to see the Gene Trimble Clown Band for a share of laughs for the whole family. In the afternoon, check out a nationally recongnized band, Jim Easter and the Artistics! And don’t forget to enter the Cheese Nationals and get your title for eating the most cheese! In the evening, relax uptown at the main stage for live music entertainment with Missy Garnett and her backup bandL the Nashville Space Cowboys.
On the second day, bring the children up for the annual tractor pulling, or wait in line for more free cheese if you missed it the last time around. On Sunday afternoon, bring your heart and listen to the Power of Praise Southern Gospel Band at the main stage area.
On the last day of the Arthur Cheese Festival it’s the 5K Walk, Kids Fun Run, and also the famous Cheese Festival Parade! Make sure you bring the whole family for fun and don’t forget to bring your kids – they’ll enjoy all of the free candy thrown out! At lunch time, grab your free sub sandwich at Country Cheese and More, while enjoying browsing at the vendor booths. In the late morning, come check out Joni Allen, a country music performer who will be at the main stage. Make sure you enter the Townwide Raffle, to get a chance to win an Amish made oak rocking horse or a Queen size Amish made Quilt. Tickets will be available throughout the whole festival area and winners won’t have to be present to win.
The Cheese Festival is an event to bring the whole family to with plenty of food, sounds, touches, and not to mention: Taste!âÂ?¦Taste of cheese that is!! ..Come to Arthur to kick back at the festival-and remember “You’re Only a Stranger Once,” in this little town!
