Gold Toe Socks: First Person Review

Socks are a necessity for every wardrobe, especially as the weather begins to cool off, which is when I always winterize my wardrobe. As I have a background of volunteering in the fashion industry and interning for fashion photographers, I like to be a trend setter with my whole wardrobe, including my socks. Initially magazine advertisements drew me to check out the Gold Toe Sock company. I kept seeing a pair of fashionable socks with a flower print and frills at the top advertised in some magazine I get regularly. Being super fashion-conscious made me want to check the socks out in a store or buy some online for a month before I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to review three pairs of socks.

Review of the Socks

Picking out only three pairs of socks was difficult because of the great variety of styles and patterns. As a style-savvy fashionista, I was most interested in the casual and fashion line of socks. My choice was to sample the Fall Roses with AquaFX in Aubergine, the Leaf Stripe Knee High in Black, and the Argyle Mix with AquaFX in Black. Trendy patterns were what struck me as the most important feature with the styles I chose. Because my wardrobe lacked some things to go with the socks, I went out and bought nice black hiking pants and black boots to best complement the socks. I liked the frills at the top of the tall socks, which I wore sticking out at the top of a pair of boots. Having socks stick out from boots fits with the latest fashion trends. I felt very trendy and casual.

I noticed the socks were made from a somewhat thin material, which worked well for dress socks. I wore the socks to a job interview and as I shadowed a teacher I’ll be replacing in winter. I felt that the socks were very appropriate for work, and I plan to continue wearing them when I start my interim teaching position. Later in the week I wore my new outfit to church with a nice blouse and a jacket. Because I was raised to dress conservatively in church, I could tell that my outfit was appropriate. The patterns that the socks have are fashionable and appropriate for conservative events when worn with conservative clothes.
