Golf Courses in Leavenworth, Kansas

Whether is has been a long day at the office, a day watching the kids, or you got up and noon and played Play station all day, whatever the case may be it is always a good time for a round of golf. Well in Leavenworth there are lots of different courses you can check out for a relaxing game. I was surprised at how many courses were in the vicinity of the Leavenworth area, boasting three great courses within 15 minutes.

So where are all of these great courses and how much is a round you are asking yourself? Well to find out all you have to do is read the following and also send me $100 dollars. Just kidding, but I do take donations for my awesomeness any day of the week. But seriously back to the golf, the courses are The Oaks Golf Club, Falcon Lakes Golf Course, and Dub’s Dred Golf Club. All courses have their own amenities to make them stand out and all are fun courses to play, I know I have played them all.

So which course is the best, which has the best prices, where can you get the drunkest without the club really caring? All good questions and I will answer them all for you. I will provide detailed information about all the courses and list websites, phone numbers and any other information so you contact them and get a tee time setup.

Falcon Lake’s Golf Club

Falcon Lake’s is my favorite of the clubs, I am not sure why, it’s just a beautiful course with a housing community built around the course, which I typically hate but the houses aren’t to close to the course so you don’t have to worry about that. A very difficult course that can range from 5,600 to 7,100 yards is perfect for golfers of all skill levels. This course is spread out with beautiful fairways, lush greens, and plenty of water and sand traps to get in your way. This course will challenge even the best golfers and always provides a great atmosphere for play.

Falcon Lake’s has a great website that I encourage you to take a look at. They have so much to offer their golfing community, from leagues, tournaments, and open play there is always something going on that you can be a part of (www.falconlakesgolf.com).

Falcon Lake’s 2006 green fees:

(Mon-Fri)
Prime $49.00 – (Sat) $59.00
League $25.00 – (Sat) N/A
Twilight $38.00 – (Sat) $43.00

Check out the Falcon Lake’s website for more information about leagues, corporate and personal season passes, and so much more information about this awesome course. You can also call them at (913) 724-4653.

Dub’s Dred Golf Club

Dub’s Dred Golf Club is a beautiful historic course that has had the likes of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus play here. Don’t let the word historic make you think old; this 18 hole course has been well kept during its 46 year life span. Dub’s was named one of the Top 10 Golf courses in the state by Golf Digest in 1996 and at one point was the longest golf course in the world. Now the course plays a bit shorter ranging from 5,400 yards to as long as 7,100 yards. With pristine fairways and gorgeous greens this is a local favorite of the Leavenworth Community.

Green Fees:

(Mon-Fri)
Prime $40.00 – (Sat) $49.00
Twilight $30.00 – (Sat) $35.00
Super Twilight $23.00 – (Sat) $27.00
Seniors (55+) $27.00

Dub’s also has a very well laid out site that contains some great information about their course and what they have to offer. You can sign up for free give-a-ways, chances to win free golf, and other fun stuff. Also you can find their prices for becoming a member and what extras you get with the status of “Member”. I can’t describe it all, well I could but you can look at it and save me the work (www.dubsdreadgolfclub.com).

You can get a membership to the club for $200 a month or if you pre pay the entire year its only $2000 dollars for all the golf you care to play. This includes your green fees and a cart any day of the week, and too many other benefits to list, see their site for more information. Or call them at (913) 721-1333.

The Oak’s Golf Club

The Oak’s Golf Club is the only 9-hole course on the list, but is also a nice little spot to get a round or two in after a long day. The Oaks Golf Club is located right in Leavenworth and has an apartment complex attached to the golf course. Not an overly difficult course but has a couple of difficult holes. Nice fairways and greens make for enjoyable play. Originally built in the 1920’s it was totally remodeled in 1998, by the Snyder brothers. A nice little course if you want to enjoy your afternoon playing some golf.

Green Fees for 9-holes:
(Mon-Fri)
Prime $9.50 – (Sat) $10.50
Twilight $8.00 – (Sat) $9.00
Seniors (62+) $7.50

They have a decent website with some good information about the course and its history. They have all the info you need about cost of games and when they have their Leagues. You can also sign up for a membership and golf all you want, they don’t list their prices for this so you have to call them to find out this information (www.oaks-golf.com). You can also call them at (913) 651-5845.

So there you go you can go check out the websites and see which course best suites you, and then you can schedule a tee time for you and your buddies. You can never go wrong when you are golfing so which ever course you choose I am sure you will have a good time.
