Goof Off vs Strypeeze

Without having the ability to answer either one of the questions any consumer can take great risk at using a product. Some products have certain types of chemicals, standards or solutions that can be hazardous or fatal to you. It’s always best to know what you’re dealing with.

Goof off – The ultimate remover

Experiences:

I used Goof off when I used to work downtown as a conctactor. I used it to help me remove old rubbish, hardened glue and old signs that were to be replaced by new ones. The minute I got my hands on some Goof-off I fell in love with it. Despite some of the difficulities, I managed to make the product work out in my favor quite well. Although next time, I’ll make sure to have an entire case handy.

Strengths:

Goof off is very useful, affordable and easy to use. It comes in a small lightweight aluminum can and is good for removing all sorts of paint, substances and graffiti. It does at times present a strong odor if over used, but its one of the best and most recommended products in the maintenance field. It is also recommended that one should use safety goggles, incase in the unfortunate accident it were to mist and get in the eyes. Goof off generally cost around the neighborhood of 5 or 6 bucks and is easy to locate at any nearby Hardware or maintenance store.

Weaknesses:

Although quite popular for its ability to destroy virtually every substance, Goof off does have its slow periods. Sometimes it seems as if you’ll have to dry out an entire can before you actually rid the substance completely. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come in a spray bottle. Instead, it comes in a small 12 or 20oz can with a twisting top/lid. Thus, one would have to actually pour it onto a rag in order to wipe the surface or unwanted substance. That can create a problem, especially if the area doesn’t accommodate the use of pouring/wiping. Examples include behind frigerators, in between cracks and crevences, cabinets and in between any objects. Its design seems more suitable for open out areas like a wall or open space.

I never did recover from that time when we screwed up some of the furniture at my buddy’s house a couple years ago. It was his crazy idea to throw that party anyways. The aftermath the next morning was awful; food stuck on the walls, vomit everywhere, alcoholic stains everywhere and Wrigley’s gum stuck on wooden furniture and the walls. We used Stypeeze – Paint and Varnish remover in hopes that it would restore the walls and furniture to its original state, but actually it made it worse! My bad, dogg!

Strengths

Stong isn’t the word. Styrpeeze is a very effective solution that will remove the stain and anything else it feels like. It’s made of a orange type of semi-paste that stays in liquid form longer to create its “hacksawing” abilities. Styrpeeze is highly recommended for outdoor use and is ranked #1 in the public eye as the champion of Paint and Varnish removal. It produces extremely powerful cutting action that strips away substances layer by layer without damaging wood or metal.

Weaknesses

It’s quite a bit more than Goof-off; about 20 bucks a gallon. It produces a powerful formula that has a strong vial odor that can knock you out if you inhail too much. It’s HIGHLY recommended that consumer use masks and goggles when using it. Strypeeze is a very very powerful chemical solution and should be kept out of reach of children. It’s also recommended mainly for outdoor use because of those hazardous warnings and strong toxic fumes.

Strypeeze is very good at taking off paint. But I only give it a B because it isn’t useful indoors, only out.

Which one should I go with?

That depends, really. If you have things indoors that require removal, goof off might be a better solution to deal with. Whereas, if its something outside, than Strypeeze might do you more justice. This is a no win situation for either product. Both are effective, and both are capable of being useful in different zones. But to narrow it done: For indoor use, it’ll be best to select Goof-off. For outdoor use, it’ll be best to use Strypeeze.
