Great Skiing in New York: Greek Peak Ski Resort
Greek Peak has eight different ski lifts and there are a total of twelve “easy” trails and seventeen more difficult trails. The longest ski run is one and half miles long. The average ski season at Greek Peak is around 113 days and during ski season, night skiing is permitted seven days a week. In addition to downhill skiing, Greek Peak offers cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails. Snowboarding and tubing are also permitted here. There is equipment rental, a full service ski shop, and National Ski Patrol at use for everyone.
For your enjoyment, Greek Peek offers babysitting services, children’s learning center, lodging, and has over different four dining facilities. Orion’s Pub features a waitress service for lunch, dinner, entertainment, specially booked parties and corporate functions. While you are skiing, you can ski right up to the cafeteria for a quick lunch or snack. Outdoor barbecues are also available and there is a picnic vending area for you to eat at.
If you are traveling to Greek Peak from out of state, the closest airports are located in Ithaca and Syracuse. The Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport and is located about eighteen miles away. The Hancock International Airport is located in Syracuse and is about forty minutes away from Greek Peak.
For an overnight ski trip or extended stay, there are plenty of accommodations to choose from. Local hotels are conveniently located in Cortland, located less than ten miles away from Greek Peak. Greek Peak also has plenty of accommodations on site. The lodging at Greek Peak includes privately owned single family homes and townhouses. The townhouses are located less than a mile away from the ski slopes and convenient shuttle buses are available for transportation. Most of the Greek Peak lodges have full baths, washer and dryer hookups, a fireplace, modern kitchens, televisions, and they are stocked with linens. It is recommended that you place your reservations ahead of time because the accommodations at Greek Peak often fill up quickly.
The tentative start date for skiing at Greek Peak is December 26th of each year; however, it is advised that you contact the resort ahead of time and Greek Peak usually closes around the first weekend in April. During the summer time, visit Hope Lake at Greek Peak. The park hours are ten in the morning until eight at night and the beach hours are eleven to seven at night.
