New York pizza, I think has some of the best pizza that can be found not only in Greensboro, but also in North Carolina. The restaurant is located on Tate St., which is the main drag of UNC-G’s college campus. They serve pizza by the slice, as well a full sized pies, lasagna, calzones and Stromboli. The staff is almost all Italian guys, and this pizza is magnificent. My favorite is the tomato pesto; they also have a pesto broccoli that is pretty fantastic, as well as all your traditional favorites like cheese and pepperoni.
In addition to the restaurant, New York pizza also has a bar in the back with a couple of beers on tap and a full stock of liquor. Late nights the bar fills up with college students Tate street locals who come to drink, listen to the jukebox and have a good time. On Fridays and Saturdays the bar usually has a band come play on it’s mini stage, which can be pretty entertaining. Mostly local indie bands, you have the opportunity to expose yourself to some great music while eating some fantastic pizza.

Elizabeth’s Pizza has some of the most phenomenal pizza in town. Their crust is what really sets them apart from other pizza joints in town. The crust is handmade, and slightly thick, unlike many other pizzerias that have thin almost see through crusts.
Elizabeth’s uses fresh ingredients, and can make almost any type of pizza you can dream of. Another terrific feature of Elizabeth’s is that you can dine in as well as take out your pizza. The dine in option is a lot like eating at a moderately priced restaurant. You have several different wine options and a member of the wait staff will assist you by willing you glass and delivering your pizza.
Elizabeth’s is more a dine in restaurant than a take out place, so they are the perfect choice when you want to eat pizza, but don’t want to eat it at home. Weekend nights the restaurant usually fills up with dates, and Sunday afternoons are fairly popular for the church going crowd. If you plan on going during one of those times you may want to call ahead and make a reservation.

Anything your heart can dream of you can get on a pizza at pieworks When pieworks first came to town in Greensboro; it was the talk of the town. Now a mainstay on Lawndale, the pieworks is a great place to go when you want a specialty pizza made just the way you like it.
This location can be a bit out of the way, it is in fact almost out of town. Sometimes however its worth it to get one of these fantastic pizzas.
