Guide to Annual Halloween Activities in Cedar Falls and Waterloo Iowa

If you are hoping to celebrate Halloween activities in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area you are in luck, there are many activities throughout the month of October that will be sure to entertain the whole family. The following list includes most of the activities and goings-on throughout the area.

Starting October 6-31, there is a Horrid Hollow Haunted Attraction. The name of the gig is a mouthful; however it is sure to be a horribly harrowing evening. Apparently this haunted house of sorts is found in the Old Food Pride Building in Evansdale, Iowa. Another coming attraction arrives October 6-8, entitled Investigations into the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This event is found at the Black Hawk Community Children’s Theatre and is sure to be ‘hilarious and scary’. If you would like more information on this event, please call 319 291 4494. The Black Hawk Community Children’s Theatre is located at 224 Commercial Street in Waterloo, Iowa.

Another exciting event coming to the area is scheduled to appear October 7 at the Gallagher Bluedorn Center of Performing Arts in Cedar Falls. This event is not so related to Halloween festivities; however, it is great entertainment by a special artist. Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg will be performing as part of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 pm. For more information, or to order tickets, please call 1 800 273 SHOW.

October 7 and the 14 will also be dates to circle on your calendar! The Heritage Farm Fall Fest will be a special treat for the whole family. The location for this event is 7731 Zeneta Road, Hudson. October 11 is another very special date. This event also does not directly involve Halloween, however, it would be a shame to miss out on this special concert held at Cedar Valley Community Church located on 3520 Ansborough Avenue. The concert begins at 5:30pm and all proceeds will sponsor children AIDS victims in Africa. For more information on this special concert, please call 319 235 6781.

Halloween in Black Hawk Park will be held October 14 at the Cedar Campground in Black Hawk Park. Trick or Treat hours are 5-6pm and Shuttle rides to the Panic Park Haunted House begina t 6:30pm. If you would like any more information on this event, please call 319 266 6813.

Pumpkin Town will be held at Cedar Valley Community Church October 14-31. This exciting event promises fun for the whole family (without the negative implications of Halloween). The Hartman Nature Reserve of Cedar Falls is hosting “Halloween Hikes.” Tourists will be led on an adventurous hike through candelit trails. This event will run Octobeer 25-27 and participants should call 319 277 2187 in order to register. This event is sure to be an exciting hike for friends and families.
