High Tech Toys for Kids
Oh to be a kid again! High tech toys are everywhere, taking advantage of electronics to create some really cool toys. Here’s a rundown of some of the cooler high tech kid gadgets on the market.
Karaoke machines for kids range in price from $50-$200. A nice mid-range price Karaoke machine that is so much more is the Top Load CDG Karaoke System. This karaoke system includes a built-in video camera, so not only can your kids sing their favorite songs they can make their own music videos. This one retails for around $120 and is recommended for children over 12.
A karaoke machine that caters to smaller children is the Star Station Entertainment System. This system plugs into a television and has 75 songs for little ones to sing. The Star Station also comes with a camera so kids can watch themselves on TV. The mic has 5 special effects that children can video-in behind them like waves or triple vision. It is recommended for children ages 3 and up. The Star Station costs around $58.
Fisher-Price FP3 player – Now your little one doesn’t have to clamour for your Ipod, they can have their own MP3 player with this offering from Fisher-Price. The FP3 player is part of the Fisher-Price Kid-tough line, electronics built to stand up to the punishment that kids can inflict on their toys. Recommended age for the FP3 is 3-5. The FP3 comes with 128MB of memory and is an expansion SD media slot. It has a one inch backlit LCD screen that shows the artist and song currently playing. The FP3 connects to your computer via USB cable. Songs can either be purchased at FP’s online store or on a CD. The FP3 costs around $70.
Another MP3 player is Disney’s Princess Mix Stick. The pink, slender MP3 player resembles an Ipod Shuffle. The Mix Stick has 128MB or ram and a mouse-shaped control panel. The pink and purple casing of the Mix Stick probably will have more appeal to girls. The Disney Princess Mix Stick retails for $49.99 and is recommended for kids 6 and up.
Nitro Notebook – This learning laptop for kids has a sleek, notebook design. It is loaded with games and activities that make learning fun for kids. The notebook reads aloud stories which helps children learn to pronounce words. The stories can be played in either English or Spanish. Parents will be able to track their child’s learning progress and adjust the Nitro Notebook settings accordingly. The Nitro Notebook is for kids who are at least 5 and retails for around $50.
Pet Master PDA – Keep up all the information on your cats or dogs with the Pet Master. Store phone numbers, set reminders, and create shopping lists with the Pet Master. The flip open cover features a picture frame spot to store you favorite photo of you and your pet. With Pet Master you can find out information about local veteraniarns. The Pet Master retails around $25.
YOUniverse Smart Card Room Alarm – This little device is your child’s very own security system. The Smart Card will let them know when someone, aka other siblings, have been snooping around their room without their permission. The Room Alarm will show you when someone has entered a room or if someone tried to deactivate the alarm. It is recommended for children six and up and retails for around $10.
