Pros of the As Time Goes By: Complete Season 5 DVD

As Time Goes By: Complete Season 5 DVD has some of my favorite episodes in it. This is the season that Jean and Lionel spend a lot of time at their newly acquired country house. I love these episodes the best because they include Mrs. Bale, Rocky, Madge, and Lowell. These supporting characters really liven things up, and they help to add character and charm to the story line.

In addition to including some of my favorite episodes from the series, this season’s DVD also includes more bonus material then the other seasons’ do. In this collection of episode you get the usual biographies for the cast and the crew and trailers for Father Ted, the BBC, Blue Planet, etc., as well as a four minute excerpt from the BAFT Tribute to Judi Dench. This special tribute is funny and involves a charming speech given by Geoffrey Palmer who plays Lionel in the series.

Cons of the As Time Goes By: Complete Season 5 DVD

While I don’t have a lot to say against this DVD, there are a few things that take away from its value. First it is a single disc, and not a double disc collection like Season 1 and 2, Season 3, and Season 4. This set also could have been improved with more supplemental materials like bloopers and interviews with the cast and crew. Besides these minor things, this is a great DVD.
