Constructing your bookshelf mount
To construct your wall mount start be determining how long you would like your bookshelf to be. For a simple bookshelf, measure the length and width of your largest book and multiply it by two to get the total length of your wall mount. Take your metal bar and mark the width of the largest book on both ends. Place one end of the bar into a vice and heat the opposite end with a blow torch until it glows a bright red in color. Bend the heated end toward you at a ninety degree angle and allow it to cool before repeating the process at the other end. Using your stud finder select an area on the wall that you would like to place your wall mount, drilling a hole every inch until you reach the end of the bar. Place a few screws in each hole to secure it to the wall.
Constructing and placing your bookshelf
Begin by cutting a board that is sixteen inches wide and matches the length of your wall mount, this will act as your backboard. Cut two similar pieces to act as the sides, cutting them to match the width of your largest book. Attach the two side pieces to the backboard with wood glue; allow twenty four hours of drying before moving on to the next step. Once dry, measure the width inside the cabinet and the length of the sides and cut a piece of wood to act as the shelf of your bookcase. Place it in the center of your bookcase with the rubber stoppers being placed underneath for support. Mark on the back as well as on the bottom and top of your bookcase where each hole in the metal bar is located. Screw a few screws in both the top and bottom as well as the back of your bookshelf. Fix the bottom and top screws to the bookcase with nuts, testing it by pressing down with your hand before placing books inside.
