Host a Nuts and Bolts Party

There are a wide variety of theme parties to host. If you want to host a party that will aid in your matchmaking efforts, then you should consider hosting a “Nuts and Bolts” Party. This type of party is a great way to break the ice between people. Not only that, but it’s fun! Any guy or girl who is looking for someone to fall in love with- and who isn’t?- will gladly accept an invitation to a Nuts and Bolts party that you host.

What is a Nuts and Bolts party? It’s a fun party that brings guys and ladies together. When your guests show up at the door, you’ll have a bowl of assorted nuts and a separate bowl of assorted bolts handy. If your guest is a guy, he’ll pick a bolt out of the bowl and hang on to it. If your guest is a girl, she’ll need to choose a nut from the bowl and keep it with her.

Now, once your guests get something to drink and get settled in, they’ll need to walk around the room. The guys will need to meet with the girls, and vice versa. The goal is to find the person
who has the nut or bolt that fits onto your fastener. The idea is, that whoever has the nut and bolt that matches, will also be a perfect match!

If the guys and girls at your Nuts and Bolts party are a little on the shy side, you as the host will need to help things along. You can help break the ice by introducing your friends to one another.

So, how does one host a Nuts and Bolts party? It’s not hard, really. First, you’ll need a place to host a nuts and bolts party at. You can open your house or apartment to a group of guests. Or, you can rent a public place such as a hall if your place isn’t large enough. Or, if you don’t want the mess of a party at your home. Just be sure to rent an appropriate place if you plan to serve alcoholic beverages. There are several public places you can rent that don’t allow alcoholic beverages being served.

Next, figure out when you’re going to host a Nuts and Bolts party. The best party nights, of course, will be on a Friday or Saturday. Once you have the date, figure out a good time- seven or eight o’clock is usual- and you’re now ready to make up a guest list.

For the perfect Nuts and Bolts party, you’ll need to invite the same number of guys as girls. Otherwise, someone will get left out, and that wouldn’t be fun for them at all. (If you want to participate in the fun party as well, feel free to!)

Now, you’re ready to start sending out invitations. Invitations don’t have to be anything fancy. You can even make whole page invitations up on your computer. Be sure to include the occasion, the date and time, the location, what they should bring, if anything, and a phone number to RSVP you at. Then, you can print the the invitations out and fold them into thirds. Use a piece of tape or a fun sticker to seal the invitation shut with. Stick a friend’s name and address on them, along with a first class stamp, and they’re ready to go!

In the meantime, you’ll need to visit your local hardware store. The number of nuts and bolts you’ll need for your party will depend on the number of guests you invited. Make sure that you buy the nuts and bolts in pairs so that only one bolt matches one nut.

Then, find some music and food for your Nuts and Bolts party, and you’re in for a night full of fun!
