Hotel Guide: Cincinnati, Ohio

So you’ve found yourself in Cincinnati, Ohio and you are obviously excited about being in a historic city such as this. Cincinnati has always been known as the crossroads of America. This has been said because it is the intersection between the north and the south, and between the Midwest and the East coast. As one continues to roam around this city, which is rich of culture and art, there is one thing that is to be of concern – where should one stay? Since Cincinnati is such a vast city, there are many different hotels that one could stay, but which ones are really worth your time and money? Well, I have reviewed the top three hotels for your choosing.

The first hotel that I reviewed is the Cincinnatian Hotel. This hotel is rich in historic splendor with a contemporary flair. The Cincinnatian Hotel was built in 1882, and is centrally located in the downtown Cincinnati business district – which is one block north of Fountain Square. Are you in need of a business center? Well, you are in luck because the Cincinnatian Hotel is home to a business center, meeting rooms, and computer rentals are available on site. There are 146 guestrooms spanning eight floors, and all are accessible through interior corridors and elevators. The accommodations at the Cincinnatian Hotel are all business-friendly with desks, multi-line phones with voice mail, and complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. This four-star hotel is an Art Deco landmark, this hotel is part of the Carew Tower Complex, which is across from Fountain Square in the city center. The city’s skywalk system connects the hotel to the Dr. Albert Sabin Convention Center and several offices throughout the downtown business core. This hotel is truly historic and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Inside of this lush hotel is one-half acres of rare Brazilian Rosewood paneling. The Palm Court restaurant area also offers elaborate frescoes and murals, original sculptures, and a Rookwood Pottery fountain. Several other amenities include a 13,000 square foot fitness center with an indoor pool, spa tub, aerobics studio, sauna, and steam room. This hotel offers 591 guestrooms in a 29-story building. All accommodations have Hilton Sweet Dreams Beds(TM) with pillow top mattresses. Among the amenities are wireless, high-speed, and dial-up Internet access available for a surcharge.
