Hotel Guide: Dayton, Ohio

So you’ve found yourself in Dayton, Ohio, with only a population of 166,000 one would begin to wonder if this city has any good hotels to stay in. Well, one is pleasantly surprised when they begin to research the sleeping options they have. When one is in Dayton, they begin to think about how the Great Miami River runs directly through it, and wherever there is a river there are vacationers. Whether you liv in Ohio or you are just passing through and decided to take a mini, or large, vacation, the hotels within Dayton are more than happy to take you in and treat you with a hospitality that is extremely rare nowadays. Dayton is known as the “Birthplace of Aviation,” now let it be known for more than its aerospace activity, let it be known for its hotels.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Marriott Dayton. This three-and-a-half star hotel is just three miles from Riverscape and downtown. Which, being this close offers all of its guests the amenities of these locations including the Dayton Art Institute, University of Dayton, and the above mentioned Riverscape. And only two miles away from the hotel is the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, and the National Museum of the Air Force is just ten minutes away from this wonderful hotel. Are you a business traveler? Great! All business guests will appreciate the on-site business center. Another great feature is that Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas of the hotel. Guests can splash in the outdoor pool, relax in the spa tub and sauna, or work out in the fitness center. Does your little doggie or cat want to come along on the trip? No problem, because for a surcharge, they are more than welcome to tag along. This six-story hotel has 339 guestrooms, all of which come furnished with work desks, coffeemakers, minibars, and free HBO. Their Wired-For-Business program offers high-speed Internet access, as well as unlimited local and long distance calls for an extra $9.95.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is The Country Inn & Suites Dayton North. This three-star hotel is situated close to restaurants and shops around the Dayton area. The hotel is only 3 miles southeast of the Dayton International Airport, which makes it a hot spot for business and weekend travelers. In the traditional Country Inn & Suites style, complimentary continental plus breakfast is included, and all local calls are also complimentary. Another amazing amenity is that all rooms are outfitted with complimentary High Speed Internet access so you can stay atop of all of your e-mails while you are out of town. This three-floor hotel has 21 suites which feature such amenities such as a microwave, hair dryer, coffeemaker and rollaway beds. So if you are on a budget, but yet don’t want to sacrifice comfort, The Country Inn & Suites Dayton North is the hotel for you.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Drury Inn Suites Dayton North. I personally love all Drury Inns, they are my number one choice for when I travel. There is something very comforting about their atmosphere, so as an avid guest of this hotel chain, I highly recommend them. This particular Drury Inn Suites is a seven-story hotel which is set within eight miles of the Dayton Convention Center, Carillon Historical Park, and downtown Dayton. Once you walk into the lobby you are greeted by elegance and style, as the floor is ordained by a wonderful star-shaped pattern. Your shoes click on the marble floor as you approach the welcome desk. Several amenities this hotel offers its guests are a fitness center, guest laundry facilities for those families who stay for quite some time, and a business center. Probably one of the greatest amenities is the complimentary wireless Internet access found throughout the entire hotel. There are 180 guestrooms and 36 suites within the Drury Inn Suites Dayton North, and all rooms include complimentary wireless internet access.
