So you’ve found yourself in Detroit, Michigan. Well, this city is quite old, founded n 1701 by French fur traders, it is the center of an industrail area in the American “Rust Belt.” Today it is known as the world’s traditional automotive center and an important source of popular music. This city is also, more famously known as, Motor City and Motown. As of 2005, Detroit was ranked as the United State’s 11th most populous city with over 888,000 residents. So with all of the history and clout this city has, there has got to be some wonderful hotels. Well, I have found the top three of these hotels and have researched and reviewed them for your consideration. So, no worries about where to stay in this rustic-musical city – just read on and find your perfect hotel.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Townsend Hotel, which is actually located in Birmingham, Michigan – This intimate, European-style hotel offers comfort and elegance. As one enters the lobby a carved-marble fireplace, gleaming marble floors, and fine carpets grace this marvelous six-story hotel. There are antiques and paintings, fresh flowers, and soft lighting. Music from a baby grand piano greets corporate travelers, returning guests, and weekend romantics. Need to stay in shape while traveling? The Townsend Hotel offers a fitness facility with elliptical cross-trainers, weight machines, treadmills, free weights, and step machines. This hotel has 150 guestrooms, all of which include beds with carved-wood headboards and pillow top mattresses dressed in Egyptian-cotton sheets, down pillows, and country French bedspreads. Some other amenities include high-speed Internet access for a surcharge, CD players, minibars, and laptop-compatible in-room safes.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Westin Detroit Metro Airport. This four-star hotel has a nine-story atrium, is a soothing oasis for business travelers, preflight and post-flight guests, and those staying over because of bad weather or cancelled flights. This hotel is tranquility that meets convenience at the airport. Another amazing feature this hotel has (besides being adjacent to the airport_ is it features a large, tranquil pool which adjoins a soaring bamboo forest; and glass elevators provide an astonishing view of it all. This nine-story hotel has 404 guestrooms, all with high-speed Internet access available for a surcharge. All rooms also have views of the atrium or runway. All rooms have a workspace and a 27-inch flat-screen television with HBO and other premium channels. Also, every room features the Heavenly Bed and a marble-and-granite Heavenly Bath.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Atheneum Suite Hotel. This four-star hotel is Detroit’s only AAA Four Diamond hotel, which offers an amazing blend of atmospheres from different parts of the world. Towering figures from Greek mythology gaze down upon you in the striking marble lobby. Do you want to be in the Big Easy? Well, experience a brilliant New Orleans atmosphere, completely with flavors of spicy Cajun cooking served at the hotels celebrated restaurant, Fishbones Rhythm Kitchen CafÃ?©. This hotel is located in the heart of Greektown and boasting the highest level of service in the city, this is the perfect hotel for business or leisure.
