Hotel Guide: Fort Lauderdale, FL

Fort Lauderdale, Florida is also known as the “Venice of America.” This is due to the face that this city has an expansive and intricate canal system which runs throughout the entire city. There are numerous reasons why one comes to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but the main reason is to vacation. Whether you are a family, or a group of friends looking for an amazing weekend (or week) scoping out the bars and nightclubs, there is a hotel for you to stay at. I have researched and reviewed the top three hotels for your consideration. So sit back, relax, and read on to find your absolutely perfect hotel!

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This four-star hotel is a favorite among the younger travelers (or the young at heart) due to its classic rock-and-roll vibe. This hotel is owned and operated by the Seminole Indian tribe, is a 12-story hotel and casino which rests on 87 acres in Hollywood, Florida – a city outlining Fort Lauderdale. When guests come across this hotel a fifty-foot guitar stands in the center of a giant fountain. Are you a rock buff? Well, this hotel boasts of authentic rock memorabilia is showcased throughout the hotel and great video moments in rock music history. Some of the amenities this hotel offers its guests include two of Elton John’s famous headdresses, and a 130,000-square-foot casino which offers gaming machines and live-action poker. This Hard Rock Hotel also offers a 30,000-square-foot fitness center which offers bikes, treadmills, and elliptical machines. There is also a four-acre tropical pool which includes a water slide, waterfalls, and spa tubs. This twelve-story hotel has 500 guestrooms. Some of the various in-room amenities this hotel offers its guests include minibars, coffeemakers, pillow top mattresses, CD Players, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Each room has three phones, including one cordless phone.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty Six. This four-star hotel is only three blocks from the beach. This hotel rests directly on the Intracoastal Waterway, and features a 127-slip marina, which attracts yacht owners, business travelers, convention goers, and cruse-ship passengers. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests include a central pool complex that consists of a large heated pool with a swim-through waterfall, a smaller heated pool with volleyball net, and a cross-shaped spa tub that can accommodate forty people. This hotel offers 380 tropical-style rooms with cherry-wood furnishings. Each room has a furnished balcony with views of the marina, the ocean, the hotel’s landscaped gardens, or the Intracoastal Waterway. There is also complimentary high-speed Internet access available throughout all of the guestrooms.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa. This four-star hotel rests directly on the oceanfront, so the views are absolutely stunning. When guests walk into this hotel they are immediately awed by its sixty-foot atrium of solar-paneled glass and steel, which coats the lobby in a natural light blending indoors and out. There are two rows of 24-foot palm trees which span the length of the lobby and tower above a reflecting pool with splashing waterfalls framed by two oversized pieces of art. Some of the various amenities this hotel boasts of include a 24-hour fitness center, the Westin Kids’ Club with supervised children’s activities, an infinity pool with waterfalls, two spa tubs, and a freeform “lagoon pool.” This thirty-nine-story hotel boasts of 998 guestrooms. All guestrooms include bathrobes, minibars, coffeemakers with coffee, and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
