Hotel Guide: Montgomery, Alabama

So you’ve found yourself in Montgomery, Alabama. There is much to be said about this lovely town, for one, it’s the capital of Alabama. This city has quite a history in the south. It was first incorporated in 1819, and the city was named for General Richard Montgomery, who died in the American Revolutionary War. A little trivia for you reader, the city of Montgomery was the FIFTH capital of Alabama, now that’s some history. However, it was the first capital of the Confederate States of America, but, that didn’t seem to go over very well. But, most likely, the number one historical moment that pops into many individuals minds is the story of Rosa Parks. It was on December 1, 1955 that this civil rights heroine refused to give up her bus seat to a white man. Also, a little more than a ten years of the aboved date, Dr. Martin L.
