Hotel Guide: Rochester, MN

So you’ve found yourself in Rochester, Minnesota? Well, this city is quite old, being founded by George Head in 1854. Head was originally from Rochester, New York and when he moved west, he named the new settlement after his hometown, and soon after its establishment it began to grow. So with this major history, Rochester, Minnesota is home to some of the worlds greatest hotels. According to this, I have researched and reviewed the top three of these hotels for future guests consideration.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Kahler Grand Hotel. This three-and-a-half-star hotel consists of the Kahler Grand Hotel Complex, which is home to dozens of boutiques and shops, restaurants, hair salons, and a day spa. This complex is connected by a climate-controlled skyway which leads guests to downtown Rochester for shopping, as well as to the famed Mayo Clinic, which is accessible through an underground pedestrian walkway. The lobby of this hotel is known for its elegant arched ceilings, chandeliers, and its historical features. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests a domed, sky-lit swimming pool on the top floor, a spa tub, and a fitness center which is equipped with cardio machines and free weights. There are also pool tables and video games in the hotel’s game room, and there is also high-speed Internet access available in the business center. This hotel was originally built in 1921 to house visitors of the Mayo Clinic, and it is now made up of 733 guestrooms. The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Marriott Rochester Mayo Clinic. This three-and-a-half-star hotel is literally connected to the Mayo Clinic and the Galleria through a skyway. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes an amazing restaurant and several meeting facilities. There are also recreational amenities, which consist of a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, and a spa tub. There are 193 guestrooms in this eight-story hotel. Some of the various in-room amenities this hotel offers its guests includes high-speed Internet access, which is available for a surcharge, cable television, turndown service, pay movies, and VCRs – which is by far one of the greatest amenities for the traveling family. This hotel is an absolute must for all types of travelers.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Ramada Hotel May Clinic Area and Conference Center. This solid-three-star-hotel was just recently renovated n 2006, and is centrally located – being within miles of Saint Mary’s Hospital, Graham Arena, and the Apache Mall. Some of the various in-room amenities this hotel offers its guests includes a glass-domed indoor swimming pool, with a two-story waterslide, and a spa tub. There is also basketball courts for guests, a game area, and a kiddy pool. Some of the other various amenities includes exercise facilities, a business center with computers, and high-speed Internet access. This hotel has 149 guestrooms in its three-story faÃ?§ade. Some of the various in-room amenities the Ramada Hotel Mayo Clinic offers its guests includes complimentary wireless and wired high-speed Internet access, premium cable TV, pay movies, and video-game consoles. There are also coffeemakers, hair dryers, phones with voicemail, and ironing boards for those wanting to keep their clothes in perfect shape.
