Hotel Guide: San Diego, California
The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Lodge At Torrey Pines in La Jolla. This five-star hotel sits atop an ocean bluff, giving its guests glorious views. This hotel is known for basically one thing, it’s amazing architecture. If you are familiar with California craftsmanship, than you will appreciate this meticulously designed resort. This hotel features orginal Gustav Stickley furniture, Judson Studio leaded glass, pottery, paintings, and other period furniture within the cherry-paneled lobby and public areas. Some of the features this hotel offers its guests include fantastic views of the golf course and ocean. Some other features include a deluxe spa which provides facials and body treatments in private rooms, and also consists of a sauna and steam room. This hotel has a “family room,” which features a pool, backgammon, dominoes, and other games. This five-story hotel has 175 guestrooms, all of which include upscale dÃ?©cor, and furniture. All rooms have complimentary high-speed Internet access, three phones (one cordless), and high-end radio/CD players.
The second hotel in which I reviewed is Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa. This five-star resort comes with a golf course as well as eighteen tennis courts. This resort is known for its tennis courts, so if that is your game, than this is definitely your hotel. When guests enter the lobby, they immediately see and smell fresh flowers, rattan chairs, newspaper from across the country, and an adjacent fountain courtyard. Some of the amenities this hotel consists of 18-hard tennis courts and expert instruction through clinics and private lessons, which there is a surcharge for both of them. Other fitness options include an outdoor lap pool and a fitness center with cardio equipment, free weights, and even personal trainers are available for a surcharge. There are 49 guest suites in 25 one-story casitas, which are separated by citrus and palm trees. Some of the in-room amenities include complimentary high-speed Internet access, multiple TV’s in each suite, DVD players, and spacious bathrooms with have separate tubs and showers.
And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. This four-star hotel is decorated in a “Rancho-style,” and is landscaped in a relaxing serene setting. This hotel is located within three miles of Torrey Pines Golf Course, La Jolla Village shopping, and Birch Aquarium. And it is only nine miles from SeaWorld and one block from University of California, San Diego. Some amenities this hotel consists of are an extensive health spa, an outdoor splash pool with seasonal poolside bar, and a health club offering exercise equipment and fitness classes. There also wireless Internet access available throughout the entire hotel for a surcharge. There are 210 guestrooms in this three story building. Rooms offer wireless and wired high-speed Internet access for a surcharge, premium channels, laptop-safes, two multi-line phones (one cordless), minibars, and coffeemakers. All rooms at this hotel are nonsmoking as well.
