Hotel Guide: Tucson, Arizona
The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. This four-star hotel rests within the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. When you stay at this resort, you will see towering saguaro cacti, coyotes, and great horned owls which live in undisturbed harmony throughout the 93 acres. The lobby features natural flagstone floors, profusions of orchids and birds of paradise, and a lounge with afternoon tea service. Views from the lobby and restaurants highlight a natural pond and the mountains. Some of the great amenities include two Tom Fazio golf courses which travel throughout the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. The main outdoor swimming pool is in the shape of an “L”, and it looks out over the mountains. The second pool, is next to the fitness center, and it offers lap swimming and aqua aerobics. The resort also boasts of spa tubs, eight lighted tennis courts, and a 2 Ã?½ mile par-course for walking for jogging. This four-story hotel offers 398 guestrooms, all with furnished balconies or patios with views of Tucson, the desert, or the Catalina Mountains. Some of the amenities the rooms have include double-sized bath tubs, TVs, phones, designer toiletries, and dial-up Internet access for a surcharge.
The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Omni Tucson National Resort. This resort rests on a championship golf course and is comprised of 650-acres. The Omni Tucson National was named one of the 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America by Golf Digest. Each room has a private, furnished patio or balcony with mountain or golf course views. All rooms have large walk-in closets and separate vanity areas.
And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the four-star Arizona Inn. This sophisticated retreat is rich with history and it rests in a very desirable location. This hotel was built in the 1930s and is lushly landscaped in a historic neighborhood which is only a mere mile away from the University of Arizona campus and medical center, and is only three miles from downtown Tucson. Some of the amenities this hotel boasts of is from June through September, the resort has a daily ice-cream social by the 60-foot outdoor pool. A complimentary high tea is served in the library from October through April, except during some holidays. This resort has 86 guestrooms, and all rooms have garden views, each of which reflect the hotel’s historic roots.
