Housework Drudgery

Take out the trash.
Clean the floors.
Wash the laundry.
Polish the doors.

Vacuum the carpet.
Make the bed.
Dust the furniture.
I feel half dead.

Housework drudgery
Makes me feel low.
I’m stuck in this house
With nowhere to go.

Day after day
It’s the same old routine.
Would somebody please
Take me out of this dream?

One day I’ll leave
These domestic chores and dance.
I’ll sip a glass of wine
In romantic Paris, France.
