How to Make Two Different Food Themed Halloween Costumes for Couples
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Halloween Costume-In order to create this costume you will need to make sure that you have the following things: 4 pieces of sturdy white poster board, 4-8 pieces of elastic, duct tape, light brown or tan paint, purple paint, hole punch, pencil and scissors.
First you take two of the poster boards and on each piece of poster board draw an outline of a piece of bread. Don’t forget to draw an outline of the outer crust as well. Then cut out the pieces of bread from the two pieces of poster board. Next take your hole punch and punch one hole on the top upper left hand side of both pieces of poster board, this should be on the top portion of your crust on the left side. Take the hole punch and punch one hole on the top upper right hand side of both pieces of poster board, this should be the top portion of your crust on the right side. For each piece of “bread” you should have a total of two holes one on the left and one on the right. Take your light brown or tan paint and proceed to paint the crust on both pieces of bread. Set aside and let dry.
Now take one of the remaining two pieces of poster board and draw an outline of a glob of jelly. The jelly should be big enough to stick out past the sides of the bread piece. Cut the outline out and punch a hole in the top upper left hand side and punch a hole in the top upper right hand side. Paint with purple paint and set aside to dry. Take the last piece of poster board and draw an outline of a glob of peanut butter again, the peanut butter should be big enough to stick out past the sides of the bread piece. Cut out the outline and punch a hole in the top upper left hand side and punch a hole in the top upper right hand side. Paint with light brown or tan paint and set aside to dry.
Once the pieces are dried, take two pieces of elastic and insert one through each of the holes of the bread piece and tie a knot on the backside of the bread, so it is not visible. Take your piece of duct tape and tape over top of the elastic to secure it to the bread. The other end needs to be attached to the peanut butter, so make sure you leave enough room to put your head in between the bread and the peanut butter. Secure with duct tape as well. Repeat with the second piece of bread and the jelly piece.
Finally make sure that if you are the peanut butter part of the couple that you wear clothing colors that are tan or light brown to go with the peanut butter theme. If you are the Jelly part of the couple make sure you wear clothing in the colors of purple to go with the jelly theme.
Whipped Cream- This fun Halloween costume for couples will surely get a lot of laughs. This Halloween costume is quite easy to do, you can either purchase a cow costume or you can make a cow costume. If you are going to make a cow costume you can do this very simply by wearing a white sweatshirt and white sweatpants. Then you would start painting black spots in various locations amongst the entire outfit. You can find plastic udders at most Halloween costume shops. You can use long white tube socks for ears and a tail. Remember to paint these items with black spots as well. Use a safety pin to attached the tail to the back of your sweatpants. To make the ears get a solid white stocking cap and paint it with black spots. Then attach the sock ears to the stocking cap with safety pins. Paint your face with face paint to resemble a cow. Some solid black gloves can be used as your hooves. Now you are done, you are now the “Cream” part of this costume.
The next part is the “Whipped”. The second person can dress like a farmer, complete in bib overalls, boots, checkered shirt , bandanna and a straw hat. The key to this part of the costume is not what you are wearing, but rather what you will be carrying. You will need to have a whip. You can find whips at most Halloween costume stores. Now your entire costume is complete, you are the “Whipped” and your partner is the “Cream”.
