Making your own party invitations is not only a great way to save money, but it can also be a lot of fun. In fact, it is now so popular to make your own party invitations that they now sell invitation kits. These kits include a certain number of invitations and envelopes, and a tutorial CD. They have invitation kits for various occasions, from weddings, to anniversaries, and so much more. Some of the kits have pre-decorated invitations or you can buy plain ones and add your own graphics to them. Also if you add up the cost of making the party invitation using these kits and buying pre-packed party invitations, you will see that you can save a lot of money.

To get started making your party invitation, you must first have some type of idea on what you would like the invitation to look like. Then go to your local party supply store, or a local discount store like walmart, or target. Once you find an invitation kit that you like, make sure you get enough packages to cover how many invitations you need. Usually if you purchase the kit you get about twenty five to fifty invitations and envelopes. You can than buy additional invitations separately that match the invitations in your kit. The next thing that you want to do is make sure that you have enough ink in your printer to complete your invitations and your envelopes. Decide if you will be using color ink or just black ink. Remember that color ink is a lot more expensive than black ink.

If this is your first time making party invitations than you will want to make sure you watch the tutorial CD before you begin. Each invitation kit usually comes with a sample paper, which you can use to make sure that you have your wording lined up correctly. If you have used up your one sample paper, and you still need to print a few more test pages, use blank pieces of paper and not your invitations. Remember you have a certain amount of invitations to work with so you do not want to waste anything. Once you make sure that everything is lined up than you can just insert your invitation into the printer and start printing. When you get started the process will not take very long at all. Once the invitations are done you can then move on to the envelopes.

When your first batch of party invitations are done, you will then see that the process is not that difficult and can be a lot of fun as well. You will be able to take pride in the fact that you made your own invitations, and depending on the occasion it will have a more personal effect. This will really show the person you are throwing the party for how much you care.
