How to Make an Inexpensive Fire Pit
Most folks have a small charcoal grill they aren’t using anymore. If you don’t have one , you can either find a free or cheap one in Craigslist or purchase one for about $15 at Wal-Mart or K-Mart. Take the grill and cut the legs to about one foot tall. Now you have an easy, cheap, and movable fire pit you can you anywhere. One thing I do though is place a piece of ceramic tile underneath if I use it on the deck. This prevents the deck from getting scorched by the heat of the fire pit.
If you have a spot in the yard that you would like to turn into a gathering place I have another inexpensive idea. Go to the hardware store and pick up a bag of sand and decorative border blocks. Mark off an area about four foot in diameter and border it with your decorative block. Next remove all the grass out of your area until it is just dirt. Place the sand on top of the dirt and you have a safe fire pit. Set some lawn chairs out and grab the cooler and enjoy the night air.
Having a fire pit at home is great for inviting friends over for some laughs or sharing with your loved one. Sitting outside enjoying the night air and listening to the crackle of the wood is simply a relaxing way to spend an evening after a hard day at work. You don’t need to spend all your hard earned money on fancy fire pits when you can create something simple and easy to care for. So get out there and make your own and create some lasting memories.
