How to Overcome Jetlag
1. A couple of days before you leave on your trip, start to change your sleeping habits to mirror those of your destination. This will help to get your body ready in advance.
2. If you are facing a long flight (overseas), sleep on the plane when it is nighttime at your destination. On a similar note, stay awake on the plane when it is daytime at your destination.
3. It has been scientifically proven that being thirsty or dehydrated can speed up the process of feeling jetlag. Make sure that you drink plenty of water before you leave, as well as on the flight. Also, alcohol causes dehydration so avoid it at all costs.
4. Try not to fall into a lull where you do not move around for a long period of time. By staying in your seat without moving for hours on end, you are going to feel jetlag set in sooner. Try to stretch and make as many trips as possible to the bathroom.
Jetlag can often put a damper on the early part of your vacation. You only get so stay at your destination for a short amount of time, so follow the tips above and make the most of your trip.
