How to Plan a Great Park Barbecue
When it comes to a barbecue it is not really necessary to do anything formal. Just some flyer’s that you can make on your home computer will do. When you make them yourself you can be as creative as you like. Of course prior to printing up you flyer’s you will have to decide on a date and time. I would suggest that you indicate a rain date on your flier. When dealing with any outside event their is always the possibility of rain so you should prepare for it. unless you have a facility that can still accommodate you if it rains. Another suggestion that will definitely make your life simpler when planning this barbecue, is to have each guest prepare a dish, and or bring some drinks.
This will guarantee that you have plenty of food for your event, and will give you a lot of variety. Make sure that you mail out your flyer’s at least two to three weeks in advance. You can choose to have people RSVP or not, the option is totally yours. It would also be a good idea to have some games planned, since many people are not very good and conversations. One game that always gets people involved is volleyball. You could bring your net to the park and set it up. Try thinking of some other games like cards, or something that is a little more active. For the kids you could try renting one of those inflatable bouncing toys. They will love it, and it will keep them occupied for hours. Just make sure that you have at least two people to supervise, when the children are using it.
The week prior to the party you will want to do all of your food shopping. If you belong to a club like Costco, or BJ’s then I would definitely do all of the shopping there. You can get burgers, hot dogs, even fish tastes great, when cooked out on the grill. When it comes to drinks I would recommend getting a large color that you can use for tea or fruit punch. Don’t forget some of your other guests will be bringing food and drinks as well, so you do not have to worry about overspending. The main ingredient for any barbecue is to remember to have fun and make sure that all of your guests have fun too.
